A vision based application solution is inherently sensitive to external light. Direct sunlight, 50 Hz flickering of a fluorescent tube or the shadow of passing objects may cause inspections to fail. This can be avoided by using a brighter, more consistent light source that overpowers the ambient light. By selecting the appropriate lighting technique and by using filters and colours, the contrast on the features of interest can be enhanced while disturbing factors can be weakened.
